When I paint, I add layer upon layer of marks and forms dancing between chaos and control—and sometimes it feels like the chaos is winning. But as long as that’s the case, I simply know that the painting isn’t finished yet and there is still time to PLAY. That’s how I get through the tough days, in my art and in my life.
Through this painting practice, I have developed an unshakable confidence that the chaos isn’t final, and that play is the path. I just need to keep creating and playing in order to find those magic moments when everything seems to click together like it was all part of the plan.
