I often paint while listening to voice notes from dear friends, who trust me with their deepest desires and fears and wounds and delights and frustrations and dreams. Letting these words from the heart and mind and body flow through me and into the paint and onto the canvas has been so nourishing for every soul involved. Capturing the depths, the chaotic complexity, the wholeness of every individual without shame or filter, without the need to respond with my words, but offering my art as a witness... it’s truly a high. It is my hope that these paintings make these dear ones—and you—feel seen, and serve as reminders that you are enough.
